Thank you for your interest in helping with mock interviews for refugees who are participating in naturalization interview coaching classes.

Here’s what you need to know:

  1. Citizenship interviews have become increasingly difficult over the last year. The officers are much stricter and there is almost no leniency. Thus, it’s vital that these mock interviews—for the good of the refugee trying to become a citizen—be done in the same manner. Professional. Business like. Matter of fact. From the time the refugee walks into the room to the conclusion of the interview, you should remain professional and somewhat reserved. After it’s over, you break that facade and be more human! But we are really trying to give them the sense of what the interview will be like.

  2. Here is the link to the Signup Genius. We have many people interested in doing these interviews so please use the Signup Genius for reserving your spot.

  3. Please notify Dan Naes 615.495.8592 if you will be late or can’t make it the day you are volunteering.

  4. When you arrive, you will be given the interview questions. But we also make them available here as a PDF if you want to review before hand. Basically, you just follow these directions and read the questions exactly as they are written. You can practice your knowledge of the 100 civics questions here.

  5. The sessions are intended to be from 10:00-11:30. Depending on class attendance that day, it may be a bit shorter.

  6. When you arrive, parking might be limited so just park where you can find a spot. First though, try to park along the bushes directly in front of our building.
